  • Operate the cash register, process purchases, handle cash accurately, and provide correct change.
  • Complete end-of-day closing duties, including counting and reconciling cash.
  • Receive, sort, stock, and organize food and other products.
  • Lift and move boxes and food products weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Monitor product quality, dates, and presentation, following safe food-handling practices.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming store, including shelves, counters, and work areas.
  • Assist with opening or closing procedures as assigned.
  • Follow store policies and procedures for cash handling, food safety, customer service, and workplace safety.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the store’s daily operations and community mission.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to interact respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Trustworthy and responsible, particularly when handling cash, store inventory, and closing duties.
  • Comfortable counting cash, providing change, and accurately balancing a cash drawer.
  • Physically able to repeatedly lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the shift.
  • Able to stay organized, manage competing tasks, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn and follow food safety, cleaning, and workplace procedures.
  • Previous retail, grocery, cashier, or customer service experience is an asset but not required.

Schedule and Employment Requirements
