Food Rescue Grocery Store

Food Rescue Grocery Store (FRGS) is a social enterprise of the John Howard Society of Brandon that advances food security, environmental sustainability, and community inclusion. By sourcing surplus and rescued food that would otherwise go to waste, FRGS provides affordable, high-quality groceries to the community while reducing landfill impact.

More than a grocery store, FRGS creates meaningful employment and skill-building opportunities for individuals facing barriers, supporting pathways to stability and reintegration. Through this model, the store contributes to a more equitable local food system while aligning with the John Howard Society’s commitment to restorative practices, dignity, and community well-being.
